Yesterday I watched this movie Anaarkali of Aarah and here is my review on it.
As you all know Swara Bhaskar earlier got her fame in ‘Nil Battey Sannaata’ and must say that she has given a great performance in ‘Anaarkali Of Aarah’. ‘Anaarkali Of Aarah’ touches upon the real struggles faced in Bollywood every day due to item numbers like Chikni Chameli and Munni Badnaam. Swara plays an erotic singer. While she knows the difference between her profession and a sex worker, people around do not understand that and take undue advantage of her. Swara is brave enough to fight the wrong and get her privilege.
Performance wise Swara Bhaskar is like a storm( even before the interval) and she has a style which can be lovable. Sanjay Misra and Pankaj Tripathi are good too, but both unmatchable to Swara.
Story lacks pace though it has some meat. The screenplay too is lackluster. Dialogues are good. Editing is below par and background score is fab. Costumes are colourful and more than the shooting of the film, it is the performance which keeps you gripped.
Director Avinash Das gives Swara Bhaskar’s character the real effect, but fails to keep the audiences gripped in the pace of the storyline.So because of bold subject i’ll not able to recommend every one as story is also not so good apart from acting nothing is upto the mark which can’t hold the film alone.
