Hi all, I along with my wife stayed in Ananda Nilaya owned by Dr Nirmala in Aug 08 long weekend. I shall start with the good things first.
1.The property is located pretty near to the mercara city center and is easy to find. The estate owner was cooperative enough to actually send a person on the main road to help us with the directions.
2.It has ample covered parking space
Another thing worth mentioning was the great quality of breakfast they serve. Both me and my wife loved the crisp dosas and omelettes.
Further the owner provided cooking gas, utensils and some raw materials for tea/coffee for self service
Now about the cons-
- The estate suffers from severe power cuts. it seems power goes of every now and then and the backup inverter takes long to start
2 The room felt damp. There is no carpet on the floor, blankets and quilt they provide smell stale, even there was water seepage in the closet.(I think may be this was more because of the timing of my visit as it was in rainy season and otherwise it should be fine)
3.The room is underequipped - it has no tv(TV that is mentioned in the website is actually kept in common area to be shared by all guests)
4.Ventillation was a concern as if you are a veggie then its difficult to survive the typical stench of non veg being cooked nearby.(I think this also was because of the cold caused by heavy rains which forced closure of all windows)
