One of the best books

This book by Khaled Hosseini has been emotionally gripping plot. The story is about a boy of 10 and his younger sister of 3. The boy, Abdullah’s only love in the world is his sister, Pari. He will do just about anything to make her smile. Motherless, they live in a brutal world where their father and stepmother have no time to take care for them. Then all of a sudden Nabi Kaka, their step-uncle who lives in Kabul, comes to Abdullah and Pari’s house in the village of Shadbagh and tells their father, Saboor, about a way to earn money by going to Kabul. But little do the two children know what awaits them in Kabul. Nabi works as a servant in a rich businessman’s house. The businessman’s wife, Nila Wahdati, longs for a baby. To fulfill her desire, Nabi persuades his sister, Parwana’s husband Saboor, father of Abdullah and Pari, to sell Pari off to the rich Wahdatis where she will be able to live like a princess and also Saboor will get to earn some money. However, Abdullah and Pari don’t want to be separated by force. A grieving Abdullah hardly ever smiles in Pari’s absence. Will the two meet again? If so, when? Will they be able to recognise each other after so many years of separation? To know more, read this deeply moving epic of heartache, hope and all above all, the unbreakable bonds of love
