It’s been a long time since I read this book, but there’s been alot of times i’ve thought about it. As for analyzing the book, I remember a virus or germ that took over a small town and seemed to be spread by the air. I don’t remember if it was spread by other means, but I found it interesting when I came across this request. It certainly seems prophetic in light of what’s happening in our country now.
Back when I read the book ( I think it must have been at least 20 yrs. ago) Who knows, I’m guessing, this concept of a virus that could wipe out alot of people real fast was unheard of except in sci-fi books or mags. I think one of the first real episodes was the Eboli virus and then I think Aids. You remember how everyone thought at first you could get Aids by touching someone with it? Then everyone learned that was’nt true. It had it’s ’’moment’’ of fame when everyone thought it was going to be the one to get everybody.
I’m sorry I don’t remember how it ended. I do remember I became completely engrossed in the book and could’nt put it down until I was done. If someone else out there reads this and writes a review, maybe they could remind me of the ending. Now I’m curious. Had’nt thought about the connection with Anthrax.
