Not all the directors have the guts to handle such a different story base with most perfection added with the professionalism and crowd pulling twists. The director of this movie Vasanthabalan has made each and every shot of this movie more attractive and interesting.

The story base typically portrays the routine life of the workers in textile shops located at Renganathan street, T Nagar- Chennai. The movie deals with the  worker’s family circumstances to choose such shops to come and work with, their day to day struggles with their supervisors, their  love with co-workers, their difficulties of getting used to that environment in spite of the obnoxious sheltor and negligible amenities provided. The first half beautifully screenplays the typical lower middle class families in Tirunelveli district.

Hero Mahesh and Pandi have literally lived like  Tirunelveli people with their exact slang of that soil. Especially actor Pandi shines in every frame where he comes, such a beautiful sense of humour he has. The main casts Mahesh and Anjali showed a greater involvement in their acting giving no doubts whether they are new comers, ofcourse Anjali has starred in a movie earlier. The sudden change in Anjali’s reation to normal mood when she explains how she was sexually harassed is the scene that should be noted by the other directors to know Anjali’s natural acting skill. Director A.Venkatesh has played the role of supervisor , in fact he was the supervisor who lived in that shop I should say. Playing a role and living like that character are different. A.Venkatesh comes in the latter category.

The girl who commits suicide and her lover, Anjali’s sister, the arrogant Brahmin lady with no humanity, Annachi-the shop owner, the blind old man, the dwarf are the characters which sticks to our hearts. These actors have done their jobs perfectly though they appear for very short time.Sneha appears as a cameo.

Coming to the work of backscreen artists, Cinematographer Richard M.Nathan excelled in his work especially when the video coverage zooms out when the workers enter in to the dining hall and their hostel. This particular shot shows his technical skill and beauty. Hats Off to him.

Vijay Antony and GV Prakash Kumar gave their combined musical work. Vijay antony’s creativity in "Aval appadi ondrum" song is beautiful. No doubt that song will become an anthem of this year like how the song "Kangal Irandal" became. GV Prakash’s "Un Perai sollum" song was average with some good musical phrases. The rest of the songs couldhave been composed better. The re recording s could have been much more better. In some of the scenes the re recordings fail to match with that scene. But the re recording glimpse of violin piece behind the line"aval peridhai ondrum padikavillai in "aval appadi ondrum" song was scintillating.

Editing job done by Sreekar Prasad was good giving almost all the shots interesting. The prime aim of this movie is to show the routine life of the worker’s in that shop. It makes me feel the director has framed many sad happenings and ending to show  his unique screenplay writing like how he did in the movie "Veyil". For the audience who like pure entertainment and joy those scenes will never attract them.

But on the whole, it was an excellent effort by the director handling a different story base and extracting a natural but wonderful acting from the actors. For the audience who like movies with good theme, this movie will find a great place in their hearts for many years.
