I started reading Dan Brown, with the Da Vinci Code. I was so impressed with him that I bought all of his works. This was my second read of the remaining three.
To be frank, I think this is his best work amongst the four books. The same elements of surprise, suspense, tempo keep us along in this book as well. The story begins with a murder of a scientist, and keeps us guessing what exactly is going on. There is a mention of a secret society, the Illumiati, which is the worlds top underground organization.
There is a very detailed description of all the architectural structures mentioned - where famous people have been buried. There are clues based on the burial places which point to the place where the next murder is going to take place by the Illuminati. The best part about the story is the suspense of who is really controlling everything - who is the Teacher character, who is ordering all killings. This is where the story gets the edge over the Da Vinci Code.
I would strongly recommend this book to anyone who likes to read - I myself kept reading the book till I was done with it - took me all of 24 hours, but I managed it. It was very hard for me to put the book down, and I am sure most of you would agree with me after you do read it.
