Solar water heater

Took a tubular solar water heater of 200 lts. Sales service is so bad that they provided a bend tank and replacing that took 2 years, when it started leaking. At time of replacement they said they said the new warranty(5 years) of the tank from date of replacement. They gave replacement note, but not warranty card. After ~ 3yrs(july 2016), it started leaking once again. Called Anu solro service, they said they will come and check.they decisively said that leakage might be from the tank and not any valve and I have to replace the tank. I asked for a site visit and confirm. It took them two month and they did not come.till the time leakage increased and I can see it is from tank again. They said replace tank will cost 11000 plus tax and delivery charge. I said what about warranty. They said sir warranty was for three yrs and it expired. They happily said they have recently replaced one more tank in my layout. I found that it is true.In my layout most people have tank leakage issue and bad service exp from Anu solar.

I calculated cost of anu solor .it costed 25k with for 3 yrs. If you save electricity bill of av. Rs 300 / month in year, then

in 3 yrs~ 300* 36=   Rs 10800 /- for 3 years saving.

Which is less than the replacement cost of new tanks every three years. This is just a waste.

I decided to go for new brand. Scrap price for such investment is less that 1000.

I went for supreme, which has stainless steel tank to avoid corrosion and has 5 yrs warranty. Also I realized that we are max 4 in family and we are mostly using for bathing in the morning. Afternoon usage is should be ignored as it is under direct sun at that time and solor will be heating continuously. So you do not need to count that usage.

Hence 100 lts is sufficiently. In case someone is using for washing vessel in morning or evening, then 150 lts is sufficient. Should go for big when you have bigger family and all of they takes bath in morning beforr 8 or 9 depending on sun.

Anu solar sales team tried to maximize there sale amount and sold be a bigger tank, which took more space, money and risk as you see.

Smaller tanks will cost you~ Rs 12k( 100 lts), and 15-18 K for 150 lts. This means invested cost can be recovered within 3 yrs. So any company giving warranty for 5 yrs is worth investing.

Avoid Any solar for corrupt sales team and bad service exp.
