Explosive

Explosive...nothing else can describe this movie..i managed to get front row seats and I was cursing my luck for sitting soo close to the screen but when ajay devgan sprang into action, i never regretted it one bit..if there is one actor in this industry who lets his acting do the talking(and mind you he just gets louder and louder with every movie)and not his biceps or his style fundas it is ajay devgan. And ajay devgan and nana patekar is the most dynamic combo today;both match each other in terms of talent, dedication and they way they both get into the skin of the characters, it is a sight to experience!!so while the rest of bollywood are trying to scamper into doing hollywood albeit the role of a bellboy or mythical princess here is one dynamic duo who take their work seriously and churn out fabulous work consistently.

Apharan by prakash jha is a telling tale on the present day scenario in bihar..he just represents it soo realistically that a shiver goes down your spine each time you see Tabrez Alam(Played brilliantly by nana patekar) and his whole set of goons..and you feel even more despondent when you realise that al this is based on a true story and all this is actually happening in a state in our country. It is a real eyeopener and shocking to think that so many people live in fear in bihar..it is a social commentary on the total failure of our judicial system, it examines the system outside(or is it within?)the system .

This movie could not have been released at a better time-murder of Manjunathan, rapes and murders by mumbai cops, abu salem being glorified by the media.Ajay devgan is torn between the life of rightousness and all the morals that he has imbibed from his exemplary father and the life of ease, where you get your private gym and airconditioners albeit in a jail cell, between a life of sin and power and one of hardships and a clean conscience.ajay’s character reflects each unemployed youth today.and how finally he realises that crime really does not pay and decides to deliver justice unto himself and unto others at the end. What would be best for this movie would be if ajay devgan or nana patekar did not get a bharat award for their respective performances..considering these are meant to honour such mediocre performances as ones rendered in hum tum and bubblegum romances.touche devgan/patekar/jha again!!!

Ajay dreams of getting into the police force.he has been plodding along giving the exams every year but it is his final chance and he realises through sources that his name will be considered only if he is prepared to bribe the govt officer.Ajay&co. somehow manage to scrape together the money and bribe the officer and even manage to get the selection but due to an altercation between his father and nana patekar(his father is a respected newspaper journalist)ajay loses the selection and just gets more and more bitter with the system and for all the principles that his father represents. He has to repay the money he has borrowed else goons threaten to kill his father.Ajay&Co. does his first kidnapping and one thing leads to another and he joins hands with Nana Patekar to form a huge kidnapping and ransom syndicate feared by all.His father severs all ties with him.He breaks off his sporadic relationship with Bipasha and his sins consume him.The path he chooses takes him far into the bottomless pit of crime but ultimately when faced with the prospect of killing his own father he bucks and turns police witness. But even all that goes in vain as the home minister strikes a political deal with Nana and Nana is elevated to the status of Home minister thereby crushing all the efforts of Inspector Khan(brilliant performance by Yashpal Sharma) to bring him to justice.

this movie is great because it touches upon so many issues-how religion is such a divisive force in politics, the kidnapping industry-politician-police nexus, educated unemployment in India and their frustration, how money can buy you education..all fine nuances and subtle innuendos that suggest without openly declaring.A Brilliant Movie.Must See
