I usually prefer watching movies with light topics and less serious issues. Therefore I had postponed many times watching of movie Apaharan This Sunday I went to watch this movie with my old hostel friends. After the movie I regretted why I haven’t seen this movie before.
In the initial phases of the movie of movie it seemed to be sequel of Gangajal. Most of the actors were of Gangajal and the backdrop of Bihar and corrupt officers made the movie more similar to it.
The storyline of movie is very good and deals with the issue of flourishing kidnapping Mafia trade in Bihar. Prakash Jha made a good mockery of Bihar Jails. The direction of Prakash Jha was very good. He beautifully portrayed the corporatization of Kidnapping industry and role of police and Politicians in it.
Acting of all the actors in the movie was good. Ajay Devgan, Dr Mohan Agashe, Nana Patekar performed the role very nicely and deserve praise. Mohan Agashe was just amazing. The actors who performed role of( I don’t know their real name) SP Khan, Mafia Don Daga and Home Minister Pandey were also good. It seemed Prakash Jha has done very good homework prior to selection of Cast. The only thing that seemed out of place was Bipiasha Basu. I did not understand why was she there in movie? Last she was seen in the movie was when she goes to meet Ajay Devgan in jail. After that there is no mention of her in entire movie. She looked very awkward in the role opposite to Ajay.
Overall the movie was very good and worth watching. You will get to see some quality performance in the movie.
Some very good and thrilling scenes in the movie which I liked the most are:
• When Ajay Kills the Mafia Don Daga.
• In the ending when SP Khan comes to Ajay and tells him to run away.
• End of the movie.
