My health insurance policy matured in October 2013 . I visited their office around 2 months before maturity and requested them to provide a copy of their hospital list and policy wording. The Branch Manager (Mumbai - Fort branch) - Mr. Ganesh Dambe was very rude and refused to speak to me. I was made to speak to a junior executive - Mr. Sanjay Singh.
Later on I gave 3 appointments to Mr. Sanjay Singh to meet me with the documents . Each time he did not keep the appointment and kept on making excuses and telling lies. Simultaneously, I filed a complaint with their customer service cell, but no action was taken to resolve my grievance. The matter was then escalated to their grievance department who resorted to sending me automated messages like we are doing the needful. However no relief was forthcoming and the clock was ticking towards maturity.
My policy matured on October 27, 2013 and till then neither the hospital list nor the policy wording was sent to me.I was unable to renew my policy . The grievance dept. and Mr. Ganesh Dambe lied by stating that this was provided to me . However they are refusing to provide the proof to support their claims .
This was the shabby way that I was treated by them when I had always paid premium on time and there was no claim for the previous 4 years! As the crucial information was not provided to me, I was unable to renew my policy.
This is the devious means adopted by Apollo Munich to wean me out and thereby avoid giving me the benefit of the accumulated no-claim bonus!
Earlier l was cheated by an agent of Apollo Munich Insurance who walked away with the commission without providing me any service. My complaint to Apollo Munich fell on deaf ears and I changed my branch from Dadar to Fort. However, here also I faced bad service.
If this is the treatment I faced after many years of having no claim, I wonder what would I face after having a claim! I advise all people to avoid Apollo Munich Insurance and preferably go to a PSU insurer because there at least one can resort to the RTI process, which is not possible for a private insurer .
AVOID APOLLO MUNICH HEALTH INSURANCE!
