Is your iPod working as hard you do??

So, you beling to the huge crowd of people who say ’’we abso-f***ing-lutely love our iPod’’ but are you getting maximum of it?? (OK.. clearly this review is not for those who are still unable to decide to go for an iPod or not.. but just one advice for such people.. GO FOR IT PEOPLE!!)

To start with, I got a iPod Photo 60GB (not because I love spending alot money but because I have a varied music taste and a huge music collection as well).. I have got mine from US, so it wasn’t very expensive.. (and I advice the same for those who want to buy one)

I am a kind of an audiophile.. I like my music and I like to hear it clean, neat and LOUD. So, I have dumped the stock ear phones (they look good but sound v bad) and hooked the iPod on to my Sennheiser (HD-212) headphones.. (This is the brand to swear by in head/ear phones). This is where you start to live in the music..

To maximize that stunning click-wheel’s experince , you need to tag your music, if not tagged properly, and when you do this please use genre and year as well ’cos it will become very useful to sort later. And if you have a photo capable iPod Album art work looks really cool..

Moving on, I have got a new upgrade head unit for the car (Kenwood KDC-X889) with an iPod adaptor cable. I spend almost 3-4 hours in car (thanks to Mumbai traffic) and I listen to my music from iPod (as well as radio, though it is out of place but it is for sure criminal if I dont thank GO 92.5 for bringing smiles and good music!!!) with this adaptor cable. the advantages are - digital connection, tag display on head unit, iPod charging & iPod navigation from the head unit.

Feel free to spend some money on the covers (speck trasparent is the one that I put on my iPod) for your iPod as well as a car holder (l have Belkin tunedock)

Am sure you know that your iPod can double as an external harddisk so I use it to tranfer files etc from office<->home.

Since mine is Photo enabled I have organized my Photo collection on the iPod which is not so colorful and vivid but I can conveniently show the snaps when it is required :)

At home, I just use the headphone socket to connect to the Altec Lansing Mx5021 (best amplified THX certified speaker at 9K - totally unbelievable, a complete steal!!) and man sound fills up nicely in a medium sized room.. best enjoyed with your loved one just chilling out with a glass of your favorite poision..;)

I have not used the iPod for voice recording but I am sure it is a big gain to take notes/lectures..

The other features like organizer, alarm etc are ok but not used them so much.. yet!

I might have missed out on some features.. try the site ipodlounge.com which has got huge rane of accessories for the iPod which is a huge plus point for the iPod..

Feel free to contact me for any tech sugeestions or otherwise and I would be delighted to ’Pod’ify anything..:)

Cheers and live.. more...
