The 6th gen model is over 2x faster and the 8MP camera is much better than the outgoing 5MP. You’ll get 1080p video recording, slow motion, time lapse, panorama and generally sharper and less noisy photos that are almost as good as the iPhone 6 when shooting in good lighting. Video is a bit darker and grainier than the iPhone 6, but it’s still much better than the 5th generation iPod’s footage. In the mix you’ll get updated wireless in the form of dual band WiFi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.1. And of course, since it’s a latest generation model, it will likely continue to get OS updates down the road when the 5th gen is left in the obsolete pile.
