I have been using my MacBook Air since 2 years and its performance is still as same as the first time I used it. That is Apple for you. Im in love with this sweet sleek machine. Trust me when I say this, I would never go back to windows. Im very much impressed with Mac OS and its gestures and what not! Now that I haveSiri too. they made it easier to use. I dont remember when I lastShut down this device. I always just shut the lid and it goes to sleep(and that doesnt take a lot of battery, you see). Well, talking about the battery, I get at least 10 hours of battery backup.
Yes, getting it repaired is costly as I have heard but luckily I havent faced any issues till date(Thank God). It does get dirty with usage but once you clean it with the lotion, its new again(Its metal after all). It has only 4GB of RAM and so some heavy applications(like Android Studio, Xcode, Photoshop) might not respond for a few seconds but Only the application acts like that and you can always use every other applications in the MacBook and force stop or wait for it to respond(it wont take a minute).
It is expensive but you get what you pay for. If youre planning to buy, now 8GB version is available in India at the same price range. Go for it. If Ill ever change my laptop(which is highly unlikely now), Ill choose a MacBook Pro with a retina display(Because MacBook Pro is always better in performance and you can customise it as well and Ill have my sweet sleek Air with me anyways).
I cant say anything about service and support. Never had to go to a service centre. Nothing would happen to your MacBook if you take good care of it and you can always extend your warranty which will again be expensive but useful.
Thanks.
