I purchased the Macbook Pro after my white macbook expired. I was excited about the trackpad for navigation and I liked the slick design and lighter weight of this comp. vs. my previous macbook. As with my other Apple products I have owned, my main complaint is to the weakness of the body, and my main compliment is to the intuitive OS.
The highlights of this computer have been the automatic light sensitive light beneath the keyboard that helps with typing in low light. The basic software that comes with this computer is of course, a good start and adding adobe suite sets this computer up as a ready-to-go tool geared towards users working in visual fields: It is well known the mac is a friend to visual and graphics designers and boasts some of the more beginner friendly video editing software. Another upside: Hackers arent creating as many successful viruses for this computer so while friends PCs are having hacker and virus issues I havent had a single one.
Back to the Macbook Pro body though: after just one month the small rubber feet on the bottom of this computer that protect the bottom from scratching started popping off. This has lead to some serious scratches on the body of my computers shell: so sadly I have found my last mac and this one also easily show wear and tear.
All around it was a good computer: I am a visual designer and artist and I got what I wanted in my purchase. For someone who is looking for a more basic computer or someone writing code I say: PC all the way. Let Mac be something you get when you are required to by your career or when you can easily buy into the insurance plan which I highly recommend.
Also watch out: if you loose your charger or have to replace mac cables here in India they are hard to find and very expensive. Many retailers are licensed to sell computers but not chargers and other cables: which is why I give a low service and support score here. Keep in mind that many people in retail stores are also not able to answer mac questions so you may have to hunt for a Mac specific store or find the one guy working at Chroma who can tell you whats up.
And very important:
That trackpad I was after? Has become less sensitive in 7 months time and now basically functions only as a click pad for anything more than scrolling in a page.
So choose wisely!
