I have been using Macbook for past two years.
Following are the details of my model:
Name: MacBook Pro 13-Inch, Late 2011
Processor: 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5
Software: OS X 10.9.2
Since the very day I bought this MacBook, it has been giving me problems as in with lots of noise coming from the fan, loads of heating happening at the bottom panel, but to my surprise it crossed the limit, when literally smokes started coming out of my MacBook.
In panic, I shut it down and called the customer service department, who sounded quite friendly, and told me to take my macbook to the nearest service center(located in MG Road Gurgaon), wherein after their so called(thorough) testing, they told me there is no problem with the laptop and you can continue using it.
My mistake, I got the laptop back, although I did not see the smoke again, but the problems like heating and intermittently bluetooth going off, kept on coming, and I simply ignored it thinking must be because of some software glitch or something temporary.
By this time my warranty expired, and just by the end of 12th month, the laptop started giving more of problems, I do not know whether the optical drive was working since start or not, as I never used it, but when I got to use it after a year, it did not read any disk, and always kept the disk throwing out(even brand new disk). Also, the bluetooth completely went off, so I could not use wireless headset or mouse any more.
Then, later on I started getting problem, almost for six - eight months of suddenly the trackpad and keyboard freezing, wherein you have no other option, but press the shutdown button and hard close it, which is really bad for a laptop.
Now in my second year, I am facing this issue of extreme heat at the point where charger is connected, it is so hot, that the original charger that came with it, the wire tore off, and the charger broke, I had to buy a new charger, and even with the new charger there is no benefit, as the laptop is so hot, that you can not keep it on for more than 10-15 minutes, on top of it the call center people want me to keep it online throughout the night, and reinstall the OS on it to test if the problem is due to software or hardware.
I can really sense it is a hardware problem, as it is getting heated so much that you cannot even place your hand on the laptop or you will burn it.
While in warranty, when I got in touch with the executive, she told me that in case in future, you sense such problem of smoke or heating get in touch with us, and we will do the best.
But now when I am connecting with them, they are asking for 2000 inspection charges, and then I do not know after inspection, how much they will charge, and this is after I have already paid almost 70, 000+ for this laptop, which is not going even into its second year, and is kept useless with my important office data into it.
I just wish that Apple guys are reading this feedback, and take an action on it, or else, I have no option, but not to recommend macbook pro to anyone close to me.
