I used an Acer laptop for 3 yrs. No problems with the laptop but the software (read Windows) was slow. I was so used to the routine of antivirus updates, regular defrags, slow startups and yearly formatting that I had accepted it as part of life.
Last year I bought an iMac for my kids because my daughter liked its looks! I had my reservations that the OS and feel would be different and would not be compatible with mainstream applications. But as we used it I realised that this is a fallacy.
Most things just work on these computers.I decided to switch to a MacBook Pro this year and bought one last month. Well, the magic continues... I repeat, most things just work. The software is intelligent enough to almost understand your needs (note that I am not a software pro - just an end user who often needs to learn new tricks on the go and the Macbook is just the thing for me).The cost is a bit prohibitive at 1.14 lacs but considering that it is my virtual office for the next few years to come, the laptop is worth the spend. The feel, the finish, the form, the finesse...Wow!Strongly recommend buy.
