Want to study Medicine abroad?
If you want
To pursue Medicine as your career,
to study in an independent environment, away from shackles of confinement at home,
to travel around the world, be a citizen of the globe,
experience an adventurous and exciting new lifestyle,
try to qualify for USMLE and build your future as a Doctor in the US/UK,
you need to study Medicine abroad!
Where abroad is the question: and well, you have a range of choices.
From Central Europe (Czech republic, Poland) to Eastern Europe (Russian Federation, Latvia, CIS)
From Caribbean to Central Africa, you have a wide selection of Medical Colleges.
But personally, I would advice Medical Schools of the Caribbean Islands for those who are interested in seriously pursuing a career in Medicine, as well as willing to have a high life of adventure and adrenaline.
The following are the lists of Caribbean Medical Schools recognized by WHO, consequently recognized by Medical Council of India for obtaining Primary Medical Qualification.

These are the PROS:
1) Split campus program: first two years (sciences) done in the Caribbean, last two years (clinicals) done at affiliated hospitals in the U.S.
2) U.S. curriculum: hence, better preparation for the USMLE, than other foreign schools.
3) CanHELP or TERI will provide you with loan, or OSAP/CSL. May require a co- signer.
4) Much easier to get accepted than U.S. or Canadian schools.
5) Three entering dates, September, January and May.
WHAT AFTER I GRADUATE?
After you graduate, you will have to apply to the Medical Council of India if you are interested in continuing your career in India for your registration.
You will have to pass a screening test that MCI has recently introduced. The test has three papers ? Non-clinical/Clinical/Para-clinical, and is Multiple-Choice type questions. You will have to obtain 50% to pass. Once you pass this examination, you will be awarded an temporary registration with the MCI. With this temporary registration you will have to undergo a further one year Internship at a Hospital which meets the requirements of MCI. After this internship is completed, you will apply for permanent registration to MCI and state medical boards.
Of all Caribbean Medical Colleges, I recommend SABA for the following reasons:
1) Affordable tuition ($4950/semester)
2) 100% Clinical placement
3) Good USMLE pass rate
4) Good residency placement in the NRMP match
5) Safe, quiet island with small class size
