Hello Everybody, I’ll introduce myself first before digging into the abyssmal depths of the fortunes (?) in ’’The West’’.
I’m Manohar and my profile - Electronics Engineer.
To start with, I would agree with the Suyog’s article regarding the Aspirations of people to go to US, et al.
But I would like to put it straight & plain that whatever you do in life ’’Be focussed, planned & Direct’’. First of all , we need to prioritize our goals properly & work towards them. If somebody is really interested in pursuing his/her masters/PhD, then I guess, whatever be the situation around the world, be it Iraq war, people around you saying that ’’hey you know what, the jobs scenario in US is real hell, you’ll dump yourself if you go there right now’’, whatever it is, JUST GO AHEAD & DO IT.
The confidence is what which matters. If you really have the stuff in you, you’ll definitely perform & be on top.
Now, I would like to come directly to topic of this article and here is where I would slightly digress, or to say, go against what Suyog has said.
People, you know, the reason for such a situation, any TDH going to US, its just & only bcoz of the attitude that has mounted on in the past few years , or a decade.
People just think, they are recognized, looked upon in the world around them, only if they happen to go to US or any other foreign nation for that matter. But, what I feel is, that should not be the case, you should be sure of yourself, your interests, your abilities(asset-wise, for ex), et al.
If people started hunting for an F1 visa, just for the sake of it, then we are witnessing the views of the people, scenarios around, right in front of ourselves.
I guess most of us have heard about stories that used to say, some X went to west to make his fortunes, and all.
Of course, we get to see, experience, embrace, the fortunes in the west, only if we are really focussed, really aspiring & dont compromise with our real interests.
