The debate continues whether Coke / Pepsi actually pose a serious health risk or are the risks being exaggerated. I feel that the hotly discussed topic of Pepsi / Coke having dangerously high content of pesticides is blown out of proportions. In many villages and towns of India, the drinking water contains far more pesticides than cola.
So any discussion on pesticides, is like taking away the focus from more serious and actual health risks. Lets enumerate them –
Obesity – Too much of cola leads to obesity among children and adults with higher risk of blood pressure and diabetes later in life.
Tooth decay and caries
Impaired digestion - bloating, loss of appetite etc
Addiction
Weakening of bones
But we must remember that if we take cola only once in a while, it will do us no harm. But if we really take it frequently, we are exposing ourselves to dangerous risks.
