Complicated!

Let me first explain why I have titled my review so. It turns out that certain elements about Arthur’s Theme were way below the satisfaction mark while others managed to scrape past the commendable mark. I cannot decide whether to write in favour or against it, so i’m gonna do both sides of the story so U guys can weigh the situation!

ok first a few stats...

Location:

In the Pizza Hut lane (i think its the 3rd or 4th lane on the left) off North Main Road , Koregaon Park.

Parking: (four wheeler)

I’m not sure if they have Valet Parking. You’ll be Lucky if u get some in the lane! Time plays a very important role... around 9.30-10.00pm is safe enough to squeeze in One Car!

Paraphernalia:

Well its located among an assortment of restaurants , anointed with residental buildings! It has open-air seating in addition to regular inhouse seating. It also has a section for private parties and functions, one of which was in progress during my visit.

Now coming back on track.....and taking it step by step....

The Drinks:

They serve the usual popular aerated stuff like Pepsi, Sprite etc for soft-drinks.

Hard Drinks comprise of Rum, Vodka, Whiskey(the mediocre brands )

Plus u have a usual choice of mineral water vs filtered!

The Starters:

This is one of the Ups of this place...they have a great variety of starters both Veg & Non-Veg and what is great is that they are very original. They have intersesting combinations of sauces and herbs to grace a mundane chicken dish or mushrooms! And it takes a little while to decide what to go for simply because they all sound so very appetizing!

Well we chose one type of chicken ...i forget the name... but to describe it... it was a perfect combination of sweet and salt...and was elaborately annotated with greens. It was very well prepared, exactly the right amount of Chewiness!

The Main Course:

Alright this is where MY disappointment set in, but not at first, but slowly and painfully...

If u look at the menu...u’ll see a lotta very intruiging names for the dishes...which is a very good idea btw! And each name precedes a vivid description of the dish..! So there again it takes a little while because u’ve already whet ur appetite and it all looks so great!

Anyway we places our order(while relishing the starter) and asked the Waiter exactly how much time it would take...to which his answer was ’’min 20 mins’’. Okay.

We began waiting ....

And waited some more....

And continued to wait (now over 30 mins)

Still waiting

And waiting some more....

And when an HOUR was up the waiter came and placed some dinner rolls and butter at our table. A welcome gesture, sice we thought that that meant the food wasn’t far behind.

Waiting again....

Nibbling at the dinner rolls ...but still waiting....

Ten mins later my meal appeared. It was called Lancelot. And was simply (excuse me for the use of harsh words) irksome. Now i’d thought that over an hour of waiting would atleast be worth it...but it turns out that patience doesn’t always pay. I donno WHAT they’d done to the chicken but it was Horribly sweet ...and the Potato puree I think was just there to relax my taste buds from that devastating effect. Also the portion was very stingy....not at ALL enough to be a dinner of a normal adult.

Mom’s dish was Casandra a fairly elaborate preparation of Prawn! It was good, nothing great just good. But again...stingy. There were just Two Prawns in there..that too stuffed with Creame cheese or something...and decorated with greens...which I couldn’t help but noticing...were characteristic of every dish so far!

Dad’s was Nois which was some sort of lamb dish. I didn’t taste it, although it Looked good...and He liked it. Yes again the stinginess and the Greens were in play!

Desserts:

We had no strength to bother about them.

Well all I can say is that the Ambience is good, the waiters Know their stuff and its a good ’family joint ’ in a good locality and maybe mine was just a somewhat sour experience on a wrong day...maybe the food actually arrives in less than half-an-hour on other days and maybe I just shouldn’t have ordered Lancelot...i Donno! i’d give this place the Benefit of the doubt though... and say that all they need to do is have slightly more generous portions...otherwise Koregaon Park is infested with good places to eat!
