If you can use it...

Whenever I review a website, the first question I have been asked is whether it is a pulling website or a pushing website. And here, I am finding a website which is not pulling or pushing. I think you know the difference between these two. If not, I can give you a brief idea.

I will give you two examples:

1.Yahoo.com: A pulling website. It actually pulls to different sections they have. And the usage of colors, fonts and all the design elements are wisely used to do that.

2. Zineguru.com: A pushing website. The site is actually trying to sell something. So they push a lot of details to you (you may not even look at many of them). I think you know hom much the words ’’sell’’ and ’’push’’ are interrelated.

And, the sites I have given now are not the best business websites in the world. I know a lot of guys who actually do better business than these guys.

Artyears.com is not a business website. Or, most of us like to think so. It is a community website. And, it is giving out something for FREE!!!

Are they good reasons to build a site like this?? I would say NO!!!

Because I believe every website should be designed with target audience in mind. Hey web-designer, think of the people who visit this website other than you.

WE have been finding creativity and user experience have been fighting with each other for a long time. Is there really a problem between them?? I don’t think so. But I know there area lot of people who believe that.

I was a designer, basically. But for quite sometime, I have been in the user experience side. Some of my designer friends didn’t like it. But I still like them and and I love their designs.

BECAUSE, USERS LOVE CREATIVITY.

Everyone is creative in this world. Some of them can draw, some of them can sing, ...., and some of them can cook well.

But don’t take it granted. Because users are almost fed up with fancy things.

And in this website, what I found is some fancy menus and dull colors.

DULL COLORS?? Yes it is. Grey is too dull for this website. I think so. I like to know what others think..

So write. Like my other reviews let this also have good comments..

And, I haven’t reviewed the content yet. Sorry. I don’t feel like doing it now. Let them have a good website first. I will do it then....
