Stile is re-badged Evalia

A few days back when Ashok Leyland’s stile was launched, I was interested to test drive it as I am going to buy a mpv/suv (whatever it is called) for my family. Got a date on last Sunday for the test drive. From outside the car is looking great. We all are used to the dull design of maruti omni, eeco n lately tata winger, this look is refreshing. Stylish headlights and small but bright tail lamps are good to see.

Inside the car there are lots of space. I’ve tested the 8 seater and what I feel that any size person will have no problem with legroom and headroom in Stile. The quality of materials are quite good if not outstanding. Ac cools first on first row but didn’t get the feeling in the rear row. Other features are standard compared to other suv/mpvs as now a days all brands are giving power windows, independent 2nd/3rd row ac, mobile charger port, head rest, cup/bottle holders etc.

On the driving experience I felt the clutch is a little heavy, but the power steering is good and the sales person told me that it is speed sensitive power steering. The suspensions are average although we have tested it on good road. So no real test of the suspension is done. On the pickup, I would say it is not impressive. Don’t expect it will overtake other suvs easily.

Overall I will say if you are a family man and want to travel with 8-9 people with no adventure driving, u can go for it, otherwise select Xylo, innova, safari.
