I must say this is one of the few serials which has managed to capture my attention right from day one.
Apart from the performances of actors/actresses which are very natural, the story line is different which is a pleasant surprise.
Although , the story does touch on the extra marital affairs, which is a common scene in most of the serials on air today, the story does revolve arnd doctors ( Dr Simran and Dr Manas) who are so committed to their work and how they handle the issues in their personal life.
What struck me as really nice in the serial is the way in which the friendship between Simran and Manas is shown. The director/actors have really done a fantastic job , in depicting the feelings of friendship, love, betrayal, repentance, jealousy very well.
Urmilas character has been etched very well and the actress playing the role has done a FANTASTIC job. The transformation of the character from a insecure wife to a one who realizes her folly has been shown very well.
Over all the serial is a welcome break from the typical saas bahu stories...
I have watched another serial made by the director Ajay Sinha called Justajoo and well it was a lot diff from the usual run off the mill kind of stories.
I would recommend viewers who have enjoyed watching Astitva to watch Justajoo which differs from the usual saaas bahu themes, but then it does boil down to the extra marital affair theme. :) ..
