Feel & Look:
First of all, theres the packaging. A standard cardboard box would have been too low-key, so of course Asus ships this thing in a completely over-the-top four-wheeled suitcase. Weve seen high-end hardware come in secret-agent-style briefcases before, mainly for the theatricality of it, but this takes the cake. The suitcase might actually come in handy to haul the GX700 laptop around with its dock and accessories. However, to be honest, it isnt an especially high quality piece of luggage, so opening it doesnt feel like unwrapping a luxury product.
The ROG GX700 is powered by a sixth generation Intel Skylake Core i7-6820HK processor thats clocked at 2.7GHz ( Turbo up to 3.6GHz) . It comes with 16GB of DDR4 RAM that can be expanded up to 64GB. For graphics, the company has provided a dedicated Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 GPU with 8GB of GDDR5 VRAM.
Asus India said the Hydro Overclocking System not just provides unmatched cooling capabilities to ROG GX700 but also opens up the possibility of superior overclocking. The CPU can be overclocked up to 48 percent and the DDR4 memory can be overclocked by up to 43 percent. The ROG GX700 gaming laptop features a 17.3-inch 4K UHD ( 3840x2160 pixel) monitor with Nvidia G-Sync technology. As we mentioned, Asus also launched the ROG Strix GL502 in India, a 15.6-inch compact gaming laptop with up to a 4K UHD display. The base model ROG Strix GL502 starts at Rs. 1, 27, 990 with a full-HD display, Intel Core i7-6800HQ processor, and a dedicated Nvidia GeForce GTX970M GPU. It will be available via regular online and offline retail channels.
With the new lineup for its flagship ROG series in India, Asus India said it is eyeing to capture 50 percent share of the gaming laptops market in the country by next year.
