I went to auli before 5 years, but I still remember that place and amazing experience I had. First of all, if you like adventures, don’t miss this place at any cost...while going to auli you can go for river rafting also in between at rishikesh.
There are only 2 places in India where ice-skiing in taught, this is one of them and another is kashmir. Season to visit this place is Jan- march...this place is located at joshimath district. to reach there, you need to catch a bus or hire car from rishikesh which will take about 10 hrs.
As soon as you’ll reach place, you wont believe this place is located in India. It’s more like Switzerland..it’s heaven on earth..this place is part of himalaya...you can see nandadevi peak from this place..all you can see is snowy mountains all around you...its one the best feeling to visit such place.
During Feb last week, skiing national level competitions are help here, so if you are interested seeing competitions, make plan accordingly.
