I was forced to try this beer by the retailer. I guess he was trying to get rid of his stock. When I asked him what was s special about the beer, he said better quality & taste but very high price. And it seems whenever he tried to make a sale, people would refuse to pay higher price. So he was left with lots of stock and to get rid of that he was forcing it on customers.
I tasted this beer and true that it is a good beer. Perfect and smooth & very satisfying feel. No headache & hangover. So no more aspirin. I recommend this beer for occasional drinkers. But if you are rich enough it’s your beer anytime.
The price is very very high. So for a person like me who is a regular drinker (like 70% of drinkers out there are regular), this is not worth it. I know lots of people who drive about 10 km to get the same beer at a lower price(by 2/- or so). What I mean to say is... instead of paying 50/- for KF in Karimnagar town, I drive 8 Km to Rekurthi(suburb) and buy the same beer at 48/-. Believe me, the feeling that we get from these savings is very great.
What I mean to say is, the audience of beer are between 21 & 34 years in age. 90% of the people that drink beer fall in that age group. It is also proven that 75% of the these beer drinkers who fall in the above age group dont drink alone. They are always in a party, in group, or atleast some company. And study also shows that these are the cunsumers that make less money and like to spend it very very carefully. Most of them jobless, or paid very little, and some of them even if make a lot dont like to spend but will try to save. Also not that most of these audience are in colleges and always short of money.
So it is these audience that drive the beer market. But if the retailer is charging anywhere from 5/- to 8/- more than other beers like KF strong e.t.c, then hell, why pay more to this beer ?. Just for it’s taste ?. NO I don’t think so. We are always looking for ’’better products at better prices’’ & NOT ’’better products at arrogant prices’’. So guys if you fall in the regular drinkers category, it’s not worth buying this beer at that higer price. And since we are always in groups and buy atleast 5 to 10 bottles, it’s like you are paying anyhere from 35/- to 100/- extra for the same party, for the same group of people.
Especially in our area (where beer sales are #1 in the country), we like products that are for the regular audience and not the exceptional people.
Also there is no advertising what so ever for this beer. Never heard about it, no TV ads nothing. Even the retailer that sold to me said that he was going to discountinue this beer. Just for the reason that it is expensive.
Bottom line yes we are looking for alternatives to KF Strong, Haywards but not at a cost. I would suggest the makers of this beer to conduct customer survey (of beer drinkers & ofcourse retailers) and act accordingly. I would hate this product to go out of market.
