I have recently (2/3 weeks ago) decided to buy a Maruti Wagon R VXI so approached a few dealers and settled on Auto Hi-Tech on Southern Avenue, Kolkata, primarily because it was close to my residence. While the salespersons showed a lot of enthusiasm and made a lot of promises till the money was paid (I paid the amount fully in cheque) right after that the attitude completely changed I paid the full money on one Wednesday with a promise that the car would be delivered by the Saturday of the same week since the colour & model I had chosen was in stock with this dealer.
Surprisingly, since they got the money, they have kept on delaying the delivery with one pretext or the other. A bigger (unpleasant) surprise in store for me. When I tried escalating this to their Senior Manager (Sales), Mr. Debajit Nag, I was amazed at his ill-behavior over the phone. In short he said that he was bound to reply to any of my queries and that it didnt matter that I was a customer to the organisation - he on his personal basis is not bothered about responding to so many customers. I am amazed that at a time when this industry has so much competition and sales are dropping, that he has the gall to talk to a customer in this fashion.
I will not only never buy anything from Auto Hi-Tech, I will try and dissuade as many people I can from buying from this organisation in the future - and I do have a large circle of friends & acquaintances.
