Dear friends,
Actually, I didnt expect a film like this 4m Cheran...Wow... What a direction... What a screenplay!! Really a fantastic movie after Azhagi in that caliber.
There was a simple story. If a person meets his school days, college days affectionates, how will be the feeing... A simple one line story... But the treatment matters....
Actually, a films success lies in the first 10 min only. If one handles those 10 min in a careful manner n makes the ppl sit straight, then the film will surely be a big hit. Here in this Autograph, Cheran not only makes the ppl to sit straight, but also makes them to wonder how the scenes... So the film wud not only become a commercial success, but also becomes a gud film.
Cheran carefully segregated the film as 4 pieces. The first phase talks abt the school life. So he takes the playful life of a person. The 2nd stage is college life. So it depicts somewat immature characterization. (But tat Tamizh fight was unnecessary. Why these ppl get overtensed, if somebody talks sth against Tamil(Oh... sorry Tamizh.. Or else, Cheran may come to fight with me);-) The 3rd part explains his growth. So cheran shows the maturing charecter. And finally, when he is ready for the marriage, he shows a matured charecter. Moreover Cheran already in 4th stage in his real life also, I guess. Or else, he wudnt give this much matured film.
Some small small pieces r thr to tell abt Cherans excellancy...
In the song Gnabagam varuthaa, he showed the first experiences one by one, like... the first cigarette, the first class experience, the first kiss... But when he came to show the first time, I take a look at Rainbow, he showed her lover with him. Means... Eventhough he was seeing Rainbows b4 itself, it attracted him only after he saw his lover. (Mallika played the role as school student... Wow.. wat a wonderful performance..!! When Cheran(10 std) wished her Happy vayasukku vantha day, she gave an expression... wow... And the same acting continues while Cheran came to her village to give his marriage invitation after a long time...)
When Gopika(Kerala kutti... Wow... she was beautiful as well as a gud actress) gave Cheran an apple after taking a bite, Cheran imagination as Adam n Eve... Really a gud piece of work.. And the place whr he explains the meaning of Wat Gopika sed to him when he proposed his love to her, really another masterpiece ot mention.
Cheran knows only Tamil. And Gopika knows only Malayalam. In the song Manasukkule Kaathal, at first they Cheran started in Tamil n Gopika answered it in Malayalam... And when the song ended, He started singing in Malayalam, n she answered in Tamil. Means, when the song ends, both knows eachothers. And one more scene... When Sneha asked Gopika how she knew tamil, she replied I learned. Tats all. Cheran didnt say why she learned, from whom... But it cud be clearly understood by the viewers.
Snekas appearance was one another boost for the film. But is it interesting like the first two?? She acted well...
In the climax, Kanika asked Cheran to shave his beard b4 marriage. And thr were some scenes in b/w them. When the marriage was held, Kanika sed nalla irukku (beatiful). A gud dialogue... But I suspect how many understand this dialogue. ;-)
G.Ks art work amazed me... He artificially created the trees n lands in Kerala for shooting... B4 reading this matter, I cudnt imagine tat this cud be possible... For this type of 4 stage film, editing plays an important role. The editor carefully handles the situations. Not even a single item questions me like wat is this?, except those love failure scenes.
Camera was handled by 4 different cameramen. The first one by Ravivarman(Sorry forgot the name, the same Fivestar Cameraman). The 2nd one by Thuvaraganaath. He exploited the situation very well, since those scenes were picturised in Keralas natural locations... Summa poonthu vilaiyaadittaar. The 3rd one by someother. And the last one by Shanki Mahindra(Son of BaluMahendra, the pioneer in Tamil cinemas new age camera). At the whole, all did their part verywell respectively.
Music by Bharatvaj... I cant believe it... I think, this might be his 1st gud music. In some of the places in Re-reco, he was trying to touch Ilaiyaraja or atleast A R Rahmans excellance. To say a least, some parts in the 1st stage... I want to go to the theatre once agian to hear his BGMs well. In the song Manasukkulle, he was very gud in the interludes. But the same S A Rajkumar touch he showed in Snehas song. (Thou the lyrics were gud)
At the whole, Cheran brought me a gud movie. Even I didnt love anybody in my school or college days, the film kindles my thoughts over my likeness to someother gals. This makes the film distinct.
P.S: The above r only my thoughts over the film. No intention to hurt anybody. If u find the same, excuse me
Thanx n Regards,
Athi
