I downloaded AVG and installed it - yes it was easy to do, had nice features, blah, blah, BLAH. Then I ran the scan and it told me there was a trojan affecting my winlogon.exe file. I was a bit worried about messing with this file but STUPIDLY allowed the program to heal it.
Then I was told to restart and got the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH!!! 2 days later, I still couldnt get in, even after re-partitioning and reinstalling windows on a different drive. I was finally able to get back on after a full re-stage. What did Grisoft do to help? NOTHING. NADA.
Because I had downloaded the FREE version, they told me there was no support available. If they had given me the time of day and a little help/advice, or even an apology, I wouldnt have felt so totally blown off and PISSED!!!!!! It seems their business model is to put out some free software and then if it DESTROYS your system, they say "...oooooh, thats too bad...well, Im sure we can help but you have to pay us first!". Thats BS.
