AVG is an antivirus software which is not freely available but you can easily download the thirty –days trial version of this antivirus to get the experience of its services. I am using this antivirus from last six month. After using it I got to know about its pros and cons which I would like to share with you all. it provides high level security to our computer and our data. AVG antivirus provides three layers of protection. At very first layer, it recognizes the threats by matching them with its database. At second layer, it provides protections from spywares, adware, malwares. At third layer, it provide protection to our file and make sure that it will not be effected by any virus. The database of AVG is updated at regular interval of time to detect new viruses. it try to keep a record of every new virus.when you will run this software on your personal computer depending on the folder or dick drive selected to scan it will check each and every file and data on your computer and matches with its database. If virus is detected then it will prompt you about the presence of virus. Once the virus is detected you can take necessary action to protect your computer from harm. The software can run automatically when the system boots up. Although AVG antivirus provides many good features like detecting threats, spyware, adware and prevents files but it also degrades the performance of the system. It makes the system slower. Even booting time can reach to 20 minutes. I have suffered this problem. When I was facing this problem I could not figure out the actual reason of degradation in my system performance. Initially, I thought there will be some problem with my hardware. But later I came to know that AVG software is creating the problem. Many times due to its high level security, unnecessarily it detects virus just to show user that your computer have so many viruses running on it even if that is not virus. Nowadays, almost all the antivirus softwares guarantees to detect the malwares but its not possible. There are variety of malwares presents and created by many hackers regularly.AVG is only for computers it can’t be used for mobile phones. It’s interface is simple and attractive and it protects the computer and data very efficiently. Since, it effects the system performance I would not recommend this to anyone because speed of the system is very important.
