There is a company called DebtMentor that works out of Bangalore and the claim to help people arrive at a good settlement to loans and cards. They charged a registration fee of Rs 1, 000 and promised on email to give back the money if service is is not good.
Thinking that I would get some help in proper closing of my cards, I had asked them for a foreclosure of credit card dues with any possible reduction in outstanding. I was grossly misguided to stop payment to cards and was also told that I had mismanaged my finances which was none of their business. I wanted a normal closure of the card dues.
They have not been able to do anything about this for nearly 6 months and don’t reply to any of my emails as well. My advance of 1000 has gone for a toss.
My advice to all who read. Never go with debtmentor either through phone or through their website. You would get wrong advice for a price.
