Frankly I don’t know much about banking and all...all I know is savings account! ;-)
I wanted to open a students savings account some time back...I first approached ICICI, but they said that since my college was not listed in their list(for God knows what reason!), I cannot open a student’s account.
Then I approached UTI and everything went smooth...just neded to give my college Id and residence proof. The minimum quarterly balance is Rs.500/-
I got an ATM + debit card witht he account..no cheque book though...but I really don’t need it...
It’s ATM centres aren’t a lot in number like ICICI but they are where they should be so not a problem really...Very well placed ATM centres!
Also the customer service is very nice and quick...dont have to wait for long to get a DD, unlike SBI!
That suffices my needs!
