A Tricky Weapon from Mani

When I heard about the release of Ayutha Ezhuthu, I wanted to watch the movie with all my innate friends and so I booked ten tickets on the very first day at KG theatres, coimbatore. The expectations were very high and after the audio release the hype had really doubled.

As with some rumors we knew that the film is about students entering politics , so we thought that it would be a real entertainment , but Maniratnam finishes with a tricky formula , thus at the end of the movie we asked our self , ?is it a hit or flop?. Finally mani?s theory suggest us to enter politics!

The Movie starts from the Napier Bridge, Chennai , where our Hero?s meet each other in an unpleasant way which resulted in three short stories , all with Maniratnam touch, and before the third story starts , we were given some time to grasp the past. At this juncture all my friends were delivering compliments to Mani and Rahman. Though the formula was little bit of Alaipayudhey, the director has related the Napier bridge incident with the short stories with his style.

In the first half, Madavan Scores a lot and his voice modulation, body language suits a perfect Mob. The scenes with Meera Jasmine were really erotic. Then in the Second half again Madavan takes the front where Suriya?s Characterization was not very clear and in the mean while there is no scope for Siddardh to establish him, except rescuing Suriya from the assassin. Then the Love string of Siddardh and Trisha very well slowed down the pace of the movie. Esha Doel joins hand with Suriya few times where there is no real love been showed.

The best part of this film is with the Villian Bharathiraja , where all the scene with Suriya was full of ferociousness and he is an apt choice for this character. Photography by Ravi.K.Chandaran was top-notch and Rahman once again proved in the BGM. Another important recognition should be given to Sujatha for his impressive dialogue, which were enjoyed by all of us.

With all such encouraging factors , Maniratnam lost his course while concluding the film, the reason might be the focus on the three short stories and so the main path was lost , finally it was the theatre lights made us realize that the movie was to an end. So again I am asking ?is it a hit??

I was heard by my friend that after the first week they have added a few at the end of the film , so as to make a absolute one.
