I watch this movie just because I love my India and cricket and I really want to know about the story of our Legend so that some other person also inspire from his story. Eemraan Hashmi Play such an important a crucial role with full confidence I love his timing in this movie
This movie shows that truth never being hide it just hidden for some time but not forever.
Watching Azhar is like rewinding post-match interview of Azhar, full of stammering, blabbering, illogical and incoherent because the movie is neither biopic nor a sports movie but the disingenuous and slippery attempt by the producers to encash his controversial past in a movie without heart because nowhere in the movie, our emotional chords get tugged due to the endless shuttling between court and home.
The reasons depicted in the movie in a futile attempt of exoneration appear banal ending the movie on a note of self-assured note of reconciliation but few positive features r the sheer innocence and unalloyed love of his first wife played by Prachi who looks like a pretty swan paddling furiously under the troubled water of Azhars pond with the biggest travesty of justice caused to Hasmis fans because in an attempt to overdo the mannerisms, habits, characteristic gesture and idiosyncrasies of Azhar, he did not get to do what he is known for writing the message on the wall that there are people who do justice when they are made to play or play their usual self and not made to don someone elses skin but u end up the movie with two things positive beauty of Prachi and melody of Arijit, humming the song Itni si baat hai mujhe tumse pyaar hai.
Eemraan tried hard to play the character of former Indian cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin. Somehow the film was engaging throughout. Efforts to clear themisconception of Indian people were shown. Though the film also reminds us to count the part which left behind his life. In one sentence, "Azhar is trying to clear the picture behind Match-fixing scenario without revealing the other side of a coin."
The tale of two wives unfolds simultaneously. Naureen(Prachi) never sees it coming and Sangeeta(Nargis) becomes Azhar’s second wife and the man claims to love them equally.
For us kids who grew up idolising azhar in 80s, 90s this movie is a welcome relief and gives wonderful credible insight into events that led to azhars fall. Full marks to the movie and cast for its gripping story, direction, acting around key events that could have resulted in the huge misunderstanding and victimisation of azhar-ud-din. Thank you
