You may call it a welcome break from the K~iller Serials.. you may call it just another ’Gujju Pariwar’ serial.. but you cannot deny the fact.. BBB never fails to bring a smile on your face..
Its a much needed break from the Saas~Bahu saga’s where the amount of Glycerin shows how much that person means to you and the number of slaps shows your hatred..
The way the bahu’s do detectivegiri shall put Sherlock Holmes to shame..
So with the 10 ’o clock slot invaded by the Parvati’s and the Rulsi’s oops Tulsi’s what was needed was a dash of everything.. Humour, Emotions, Indian Values etcetera etcetera...
Thus came the rescuer ~ Baa Bahoo Aur Baby .. My mind says shoot...
Story
Well its too early to say where the story is leading.. Its like a daily account of there everyday life.. their ups, their downs, their joy , their sorrow... There is no concrete story whatsoever.. A character becomes the protagonist for the day.. that’s where BBB scores.. it has no main protagonist unlike the Saas~Bahu saga’s where its just a one-man show or rather a one woman show ..BBB is has got something for everyone in the cast.. Be it Gattu, Baby or Baa...the story revolves around the everyday happenings of the big family..there are no vamps here.. here everyone is just like what they are supposed to be.. Plain normal. No larger than life characters here... no I am god ka representative roles here.. The most difficult thing in writing this review is to assume what story does BBB have in reality? The answer is simple ... BBB is the story of the everyday life of a normal Indian Gujju family..
The Characters
Baa She is the head of the Family.. She is a typical coconut..Dont faint! I mean she is tough from outside and soft from inside. .She presents a very commanding and respectful image in front of her family members.. At first BBB showed that Baa had a very snobbish attitude.. and paid no heed to others grievances .. Later her real side was revealed.. she too had a heart.. As Premjit would have had put it ’’Nitrous Oxide did not run in her body’’. All in all Baa is just another attempt at what people try to be.. Dictators.. But in the attempt the real ’you’ in the people comes out more often than not..
Gattu It wont be wrong to call Gattu the only reason why people love this soap.. He is by far the most adorable character on T.V. today.. Played by Deven Bhojani Gattu’s innocence wins your heart at first sight. Deven Bhojani is undoubtedly one of India’s finest small screen stars.. Gattu is a mentally challenged boy who has a heart of gold.. His antics and his now famous “Accha Accha” makes you his fan immediately.. Most of the times he plays the main protagonist.. Although unknowingly he anchors most of the happenings.. Like his appetite, there is no end to his innocence. In one of the finest performances ever by a small screen actor Gattu is a must watch...
Pravin Pravin is the miser son of Baa. His heart is just like his stature ~ small…The main highlight of BBB is that there are no vamps here.. Although Pravin is a big time miser he is still hardcore funny.. His antics of saving every penny possible makes his character very interesting.. He is well complimented by his highly sarcastic wife Praveena.. Together they make a very.. very interesting couple indeed..
Praveena The absolute tongue-in-cheek wife of Pravin.. She provides the humour in the process of acting wicked… Her sarcasm and vampness provides great fun to the watchers. The best thing about Praveena is that she always pretends to be ‘oh-so-innocent’ and in that process becomes a store house of great one liners.. Praveena is undoubtedly the most humorous character in BBB.
Meenakshi Meenakshi is the wife of Subodh.. Now Meenakshi is one complex character to describe.. She is a child at heart for sure.. Has a habit of crying at every instance possible.. Meenakshi has many facets. At times childish enough to make you laugh, at time makes failed attempts at dignity.. But the basic feeling that comes out on seeing Meenakshi is pitiful.. you start feeling sorry for Meenakshi.. the way she cries at every possible thing on earth and is dominated by other members make her character very unreal.. Perhaps the only character in BBB which seems to be a little blown out of proposition..
Baby Baby is perhaps the most lovable character in the serial after Gattu.. She is a physically challenged girl.. The beauty of Baby’s character is her resoluteness.. Baby’s handicapped was revealed in a very mature way in the first episode itself.. The Director has handled her character in a very mature way… Not making her a piteous spectacle as well as not making her just another member of the family.. Baby is a special character in the serial no doubt… Like Gattu , she too has a golden heart.. Perhaps too big. She sacrifices her love for her sister’s happiness.. Baby is indeed a beautiful person at heart.. The simplicity of Baby’s character makes her a must watch…

What makes BBB special?
This is a tough nut to crack… Well maybe it is’nt.. BBB wins hands down when it comes to comparison with the Saas Bahu’s .. The reality of the characters, the heart warming innocence of each character , the absence of any larger than life character make BBB a much better option than the saas bahu’s ..
There are no Triple Slaps and Vamps here.. Its just plain reality … BBB is what we are .. it brings the good and the bad present in each house out of the closet.. At times in a mature way , at times in an immature way…
All In All BBB is the return to innocence
