I once ate at baba ka dhaba, garia few weeks ago. Looks nice from outside like proper kolkata restaurant in popular market area. It took too much time to serve ordered food. Atleast over 25 minutes which is bad in terms of resturant. Ordered a biriyani and mutton handi masala for me, other two friends ordered chicken tikka and mixed fried rice with chilli chicken. First of all, that chicken biriyani was bad, it dont have a normal taste like other local biriyani. Don’t know why but mixture was not properly maintained and so much oily and salty taste. I cant even finish that biriyani due to salty taste. Mutton handi masala was good but still too much stiff or hard to eat. Chilli chicken was normal like other resturants, chicken tikka was also good. But again mixed fried rice - oh my god, that was even pathetic than biriyani. They already burnt offering that mixed rice. Didnt get any taste from that. Even dont have enough egg and prawns in that rice. That was my first and last experience there. I will never go again there. The servers or waiters are also not appriciable, their response and talking way was not good at all. Ambience was okay. I always give more priorities to food serving time and taste, if these two doest done well then quantity or spacr or ambience doesnt mean anything. As I said earlier, customer service by servers are not good. For my experience, it doesnt expected from any popular resturant. Except only one food item all 4 are below average and below expected.
