Okay this is one of those days - can you belive it this is my 3rd posting of the day?(Isnt that a subtle hint that you should probably read the other 2 also - especially the one I wrote about Indias Performance at the Olympics)
Jokes apart, heres what I want to say. I used to play badminton (would like to believe was an okay player....played for the district on a couple of occasions) that was about 7 - 8 years back. In between got busy with work and forgot to play at all, now have started playing again about a week or so back. This is where the problem starts:
1) Though I have been going to the Gym for the past year, When I played I realised I have to work hard on my fitness. Dont have much stamina, and the movements are not fast enough. So how do you suggest, should I increase the stamina?
2) Know the basics well (as a matter of fact remember them clearly) still am not being able to get my game to a decent level. Miss easy points - sometimes due to over eagerness in scoring a point. Now the situation is that everybody(there are about 10 players in all at the local club) fancies their chances against me. Poor little me..... Since they already know I am again learning the ropes, they are taking advantage and targeting me throughout the game. By the way did I mention that we play doubles? Though I dont mind being targeted, in fact that makes me more determined to improve - since everybody is targeting me, my flaws are getting exposed faster then I can repair them. So what do experts on MS suggest? Its not necessary that you need to know badminton, I am looking for encouragement more then anything else.
3) Any help or suggestions relevant purely to badminton would be more then welcome.
I hope you guys dont feel cheated by this review, all I am asking for is a little help. I promise I will acknowledge each and everyones help, as I start improving.
ps: Dont forget the review about Olympics.......
