Gimme 3 reasons to watch baghban and id say-amitabh bachchan, hema malini and paresh rawal.although the director leaves a lot to be desired in the movie its worth watching simply bcos of some sensational acting by the stalwarts.add to a few great numbers from aadesh srivastava like chalee chalee and meri makhna enthuse fresh life into the movie.coming back to the story it revolves around raj malhotra(bachchan)whos sacrified his whole life for the sake of his 4 sons.he is deeply in love with his wife(played by the gorgeous hema malini)and cannot even bare the thought of being seperated from her.but in typical filmi style when raj retires the two r forced to seperate due to the selfish motives of their children.and from then on the movie turns into a weepy saga of the seperated lovers.of course, u have the typical filmi sequences of the children ill treating their parents which ranges from impractical to the very likely ones in urban households(great acting from the two notwithstanding).hey, did someone say there was someone called salman khan in the movie?he virtually seems non existent in the movie except for a bit of hamming towards the end and an unwanted song sequence in the middle.mahima choudhary too has very little to do.but its paresh rawal who as the cafe owner manages to keep the film alive in his sequences with amitabh. at the end of the day u wud like to ask the director as to wat sort of ideal son does he expect from todays generation?is salman khan the ideal kind of son all parents expect?if the answer is yes the director sure needs a reality check since he is a bit confused as to whether should have a more commercial appeal or it should be made practical enough.all these leave alot of thorns in baghbans garden.
