Excellent, Perfect, Marvellous, Beautiful..........this is how I would describe Baghban. Since quite a lot of time, since it’s release I was unable to decide whether or not to watch the movie as I was receiving all kinds of reviews, some good some satisfactory, regarding the Baghban. Finally last week I got the opportunity to watch the movie on T.V.
The PLOT:
I think most of you know the plot, but still just a brief intro......
Baghban is about Raj(Amitabh)a bank officer who is nearing retirement & lives in a rented house with wife Pooja (Hema Malini). They both love each other a lot and live happily. They have 4 sons + 1 adopted(Salman Khan), 3 of them are married & all live separately in the city.
After retirement, Raj& Pooja decide to spend the rest of their lives with their children in city.The trouble starts when their children are not happy with this decision and each son accepts only to allow either Raj & Pooja to stay with him. Thus Raj & Pooja have to separate & bear all sorts of dramas of their sons& daughter-in-laws.
PROS :
You must have observed that the story is very simple and repetitive.But this does not mean the movie is dull or boring.The performance by all actors, direction, screenplay is simply perfect!!
Amitabh Bacchan is simply excellent in the movie! I wonder why he didn’t win the best actor award last year, he was certainly a million times better than Hritik in KMG.All characters in the movies have contributed a lot to make the Bhagban a success.Although Hema Malini is a bit uncomfortable at the beginning, she improves a lot & adjusts as the second half arrives.But it’s Amitabh Bachhan who steals the show.Salman Khan has just a special appearance in the movie but has performed excellently.Although the movie is of 3 hours, the viewer is not even at one point of time demotivated!If you haven’t watched the movie yet, I request you to go & watch it as soon as possible as you will simply not regret watching it!
Final WORD :
Among the hundred’s of hindi movies released last year & looking at the current trend, I will simply say Baghban is a movie that exels in all aspects.It is high time that Bollywood reviews it’s strategy of what kind of movie should be prduced.I shall say that Baghban, Chalte-Chalte & Munnabhai MBBS are the types of only movies released last year that can enable Bollywoods survival, others will lead the industry to HELL!!!!!
