Baghban stars a famous actor, Amitabh Bachchan. But, it is sad to say that this movie, in my eyes, was a flop! Can someone honestly tolerate that much from misbehaving children? The story is like this. Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini are husband and wife. Amitabh retires from his job and obviously pension doesnt exist in India. So he wants to live with his children. He has 4 boys. When he mentions this problem, the stupid kids are selfish and say they cannot take care of both of them. So, they plan that 2 of the kids gets one of the parents for six months, and vise versa.
Hema Malini and Amitabh Bachchan, inseperable. They cannot live without each other. And when each one goes to their kids house, they are treated with disrespect. All four boys are married, and their wives are witches to their saas and sasur. The story goes on, with them tolerating their batimizi and finally amitabh tells them theyre stupid kids with stupid manners and its a shame that theyre his kids.
Salman Khan is Amitabh and Hemas foster son. Mahima Chaudhary plays his girlfriend/wife-to-be. Ultimately, he makes Salman his real son and shuns his other sons.
Acting by all of them was done just horribly. Salman his this problem where when he acts he whispers. He doesnt talk and you cant hear a word hes saying. What does he have, laryngitis? Hema Malini, although beautiful, wasnt very successful in this movie. The same RONA DHONA stuff is in this movie, although none of it made me cry. And trust me, I cry in movies.
Amitabh and Hemas oldest son has a daughter whos about 16-17 years old. Shes a party girl who just roams around with guys, possibly screwing around. Anyway, one day she goes out to a club and starts dancing. I dont know why Hema followed her, but she did. At the club one of the guys tries to hook up with Hemas granddaughter, perhaps trying to get some for that night. Since shes so frigid, despite the clothes she wears, she screams for help. Then Hema the rescuer comes and slaps the boy and says a bunch of crap to him that leaves an effect on him. What old grannys gonna chase her granddaughter to a club to save her? Like come on, get realistic. And is that guy such a wussy that he couldnt take on a granny? I mean Im not saying its the right thing to do, but it would be more realistic.
The only 2 pros in this movie were the aim, or moral, and the two songs from the soundtrack Meri Makhna and Challi Challi. The moral is to respect your parents, but the direction was just not proper to send that message. Baghban is a Bakvaas movie!
