Hi guys, I bought discover 125 electric start black with blue stickers and alloy wheeels in march 2006. till date I have done 16000km on it.
first the GOOD THINGS -
-55 kmpl in city 65 on highway at 50 kmph speed as was promised by the company.
- no major problems in engine so far.
-electric start recently stopped working well inspite a a battery change.
- good gear shifting without false gears.( chunk sound which is normal for bajaj bikes is there)
-no rattling sounds at higher speeds,
-still the most stylish among the 125 cc segmenty,
-and now the BAD THINGS
- pickup was excellent in the beginning but reduced a bit within 5 months.
chain sproket wornout and giving noise inspite of regular oil application.
finally petrol level indicator doesnot seem to be reliable often giving false readings.
I found one of my spark plugs broken during a routine check up. may be because of excess heat?
the quality of silencer is very poor. mine has rusted at a spot and air leaks through it. service people say its because of poor petrol quality. but i dont beleive them. my friend’s bike also rusted exactlt at the same spot where the diameter of the silencer increases. check yours and keep the area clean. I think the build quality of silencer is poor.
- self start not working well inspite of a battery change recently.
but overall this is a good investment and a joy to ride.i am happy.
