Exactly one year over and my discover really rocks Still !!! ?? After using it for one year , I am not going into technical details .......will be describing only my experience.
Now when we have so much options available in 125 CC segment and still if you are looking out for buying discover ...please read this.
What you look at
1) Power
Excellent for a 125 cc bike . Wonderful performance. Trust it .
2) Performance
Very good performance in terms of pick up. (with 2)
3) Mileage
Very much disappointing. I got this bike thinking that it will give me 55 Km/litre while consistent usage of 40 -65 Km/hr. It is not the case. It is giving me 48 - 50 Km / litre.
5) Handling and comfort.
Very nice in handling/ riding. Few problems noticed:
Gear get struck ( if you are not firm).
Neutral in between gears
Very noisy while shifting from 1st to 2nd and vice versa.
This is the very irritating part.
You will be surprised to hear the thud sound while shifting gears even though it is not an issue.
6) Lights.
Poor visibility. 35 W head light offers poor lighting.
7) Build quality and style.
good compared to splendour. Dont expect that since it is Bajaj , maintenance cost is less. It is almost equal to Hero Honda.
8) Service.
Bajaj Service sucks...(I mean the free services). In free service , they wont do anything. Just Wash , change oil if needed and give back . (At least I felt like that in Amba Bajaj, HSR layout , Bangalore).
Paid service is better.
9) Price
50 K on road in bangalore with all accessories.(ES version ).
10) Exhaustec / DTSi/SNS
Nice words..but DTSi is not making any difference to me. Yes it can go in small speed at high gears but what really matters is getting good mileage , which is not the case here.
SNS is not better than Air/Nitro suspension- So no comments.Adding another spring will not make much difference.
11) Comparison.
You should think of Honda - Shine and Suzuki Zeus before taking a look at Discover.
I am not aware of the price difference. But Shine is a good choice.
Victor can be ruled out as TVS is unable to give such a refinement to its bikes in a lower level.
