Best bike in 125cc segment

I bought the earlier version of Bajaj Discover 125cc drum model in Aug.2012. Recently it has completed 30, 000kms without any problem. After purchasing it I studied carefully the manual and follw the techniques while riding and changed the parts as written in the manual. The milage is excellent, 65kms/liter avg in both highways and city. Handling and control is toooooooooo gooood.

On the highway I always maintain 70-80km/hr speed constantly. When I loose the accelerator the bike automatically get slower.so  each and every time I’m confident in high speed. Every weekend I use to go on long drive with my DSLR.approx 190-250kms( UP& DOWN) the engine remains not to much hot. The engine is too much powerful with 10.9 bhp and twin sperk.these specifications make me an excelent mountain rider.

I travelled LAVA( Darjeeling District, WB) five times from Birpara( Distance- 110+ 110kms) .   Altitude of Lava is 2100m with bad road condition.just like offroad u can say ha ha. The bike remains stable and free on this worst road due to nitrox suspension and wide tyre. The acceleration is excilent with SHORT PICKUP.and if you want it can easily touch 100km/h within 12sec.

Positive points:

  1. Milage: verry good, 65km/l avg.

  2. Acceleration is great.

  3. Control is excellent.

  4. Powerful engine with DTSI & 11BHP.

  5. Engine not get too much heated while harsh driving. You can run 300km constantly without any hesitation.

  6. Very good for mountain riding with very powerful 1st and 2nd gear.( if needed) .

  7. Runs smoothly at 20km/hr with 5th gear without Knocking.

  8. The price is lower than others.

  9. It has autochokh in carburator.

  10. Smooth driving and no vibration even in 90km/h.

Negative Points:

  1. The clutch is littlebit hard.

  2. Gear shifting sometimes not smooth.

  3. Chain Cover is too lite and the chain makes noise with the cover.

  4. The quality of the clutch plates are not very good. I had to chang it hearing the slipage sound after 12000km.

  5. Noisy engine, as the engines of Bajaj are not so refined as Honda or Hero bikes.

By the way, the bike satisfied me too much by its power, milage and controling factors.I’m happy with it.

If you want power with great milage.jut go for it.

Thanks

Somnath
