I purchased this vehicle on Feb13 after almost a months research. I feel like an idiot on buying 125ST. Being a Mechanical engineer was fooled by the technical specs & bought this vehicle. Earlier also had driven Bajaj Calibre & Discover 125 for about 50k kilometers & this time was hell bent on not buying a Bajaj but as I told earlier was fooled by the technical specs.
I bought this vehicle after eliminating Honda Shine(Old engine), Dream Yuga (Less power), Splendour(Very Common bike). Star City (Poor Mans bike). Coming to 125ST I am just getting a mileage of about 40-42 kms even on highways run at about 50-70 Kms constant speed.
Most disappointed on these front as I was expecting a mileage of about 55 Kms/ ltr 2 Free services are completed & the vehicle has run about 6000 kms. They claim it is free service but at both the services I have paid about 1k. I feel like crying when I see the small tyres on the bike, It doesn’t instill confidence at all while driving.
I am personally a great fan of junior bajaj & like his confidence & the courage to take up against the world heavyweights. Sorry, this kind of product will never take him up like M/s.Hero or M/s.Honda. I would suggest people who want to buy this bike not to waste your money on 125ST. Instead if mileage is criteria look into Splendour or Star City & Shine for performance in value for money bike category. I am ready to dispose this bike at 90% value if somebody is interested?
