DOMINAR vs All bikes 1.5 lac to 2.5 lac range

Bajaj has introduced its premium product the Dominar 400 in the Indian market. Is buying Dominar 400 over Duke 250, Duke 390, Royal Enfield 350 and 500, Yamaha fz25 is a BIG question. I was confused, so, is buying the bike over all these is a good decision? Please read on.1. Daily commuting and occasional touring. This bike is perfect for daily commuting, because where KTMs will heat up, this bike has its engine heat controlled very well. It has good road presence too and for night riding, it has best in class headlight. It has no issues to overtake, it has enough power for this. 2. Touring, when you are on an occasional touring, this bike will hold on to triple digit speed very well 100 to 120 kmph. Many have complained about braking, but the brake pads need to ware to be effective, so with daily riding the braking becomes better. For safety, the bike offers dual channel ABS. For hard downshifting, it has slipper clutch which is a premium feature at this price point. It is a naked, so if one puts Bajaj AS200 wind screen on it, you will have good protection from wind blast at high speeds. 3. Bajaj parts are not too expensive, servicing this bike will not make a hole in your pocket. It also uses 1.5 to 1.8 liters of engine oil, unlike Royal Enfield which is 3 litres and the oil change cost goes down. 4. Let’s compare royal Enfield is good at 80kmph, it’s sweet spot but if you push it to triple digits it has lot of vibrations. Yamaha FZ25 is low on power, no abs and has only 5 gears. You need 6 gears for a tourer. Yamaha parts are expensive. DUKES, If you want to do track riding where you need sudden burst of acceleration, then Duke is for you. It has thrill. But it’s not for daily usage. D250 is not for touring, it has a big chain sprocket. Lastly, dukes are known to have wodden seats, not as comfortable and Dominar is comfortable. Oh, I forgot the price, dukes are expensive, parts will be a little more expensive than Bajaj. So with a over all decision. Dominar is a perfect bike to go for today. If you want daily commuting and occasional touring. Has ABS for safety, has power for you to push it. Oh, 2 things everyone complains vibrations, if you keep it within its sweet spot and every vehicle has it, it will not vibrate. The motor will keep you happy. And fuel tank capacity, you will get 91 octane petrol everywhere. So it’s not a big deal really. Delivers 25 to 32 kms per liter as per your riding habits. which is good for a 400 cc bike. So I’m overall happy abouy this decision. It does justice, I saved some cash. I can put fuel and buy descent riding gear with it. Thanks, I hope this helps in your decision too.
