I am using this bajaj platina for about six months. The black is little bit costlier than blue & red . Mine is blue . The cost was 37000.+saree guard + bag. But there is no indicator buzzer in this . Dont knw whether it is in the other ones. The black costs 40000.
About the riding comfort it is good compared to other 100 cc bikes of any make. But it will not that smooth for the one sitting at the back position.The foot rest is so comfortable and the handle will be soo smooth if it is tilted downward little more than the normal.I usually wont apply breaks on humps n gutters. But it is much smooth for the rider only.The suspension is for good than herohonda 100cc bikes.There will not be that back pain even we ride for long. I had my first long trip for about 218 km at a single stretch I was ofcourse tired but no back pain or leg pain..
About the speed is the one that matters. It is not good for speed more than 45 km /hr. The optimum speed is 35km/hr. The bike is at its best for this speed.Above this speed the bike starts vibrating and the engine goes on heating.The bike strains if we give a high throttile.
First gear take us up to 10 km/hr, second gear take us up to 20 km/hr, 3rd frm 20 to 30km/hr, then 4th frm 30 to more. The shifting frm 1st to second thats the major problem I mean the gear ratio. We mat feel that there should be one more gear in between . At higher speeds the bike floats on the wind.
The bike cannot be controlled at speeds above 40km/hr. you will surely skid at this speed on breaking. The back wheel sweeps to the front.
The best thig is its fuel efficeincy.for city ride I get 70km/lit min. the max I got is 112 for the last time a highway road trip. 1.16l of petrol.We were 2 weighing 70 and 58.The best thing is dont let the bike vibrate. ie dont give a high throttile all of a sudden n use the right gear , less gear change. keep the air pressure correct
Lights : at night the long distance is good but when we approaches less radius turns it will be litle difficult.
Finishing : about the looks it is the best in this class . But the metal used for silencer is not that good traces of rust are growing here and there and also at the engine fins.
When I got this bike the milage was 40 at its best. Later after 1st service it became 28. The service was not good . The dealers are not ready to help after the sale. The kept the bike for 2 weeks for service. When I realized that milage was going down I reported this to bajaj head office then I got this repaired by the dealers with in no time. They tuned the engine and there after I started getting about 55. Then I tried xtra-premium petrol. the engine became soo smoooth n little change in pick up. the best thing is empty the tank almost full. then use xtra premium for a week then use alternatively. then u can feel the difference.
