Hey All,
Am back ..................
By bike has now completed its 2 years 2 months........ the speedo clocks 25990 kms....
As mentioned in my last update .. I had approached the bajaj center with my false gear probs during my service at 21500 kms..but it seems to be existing still not fully fixed.. .... but the next service done at 23000 kms was really not good.. I had a handle bend (thanks to the road side mechanic to whom I gave it for a water wash) which they couldnt totally fix....there was some issues with the brakes which they couldnt fix.. they couldnt fix the problem with the electrical circuit..( I was told earthin is not proper and the bike needs a through inspection which will take two days).. I spent nearly Rs 1800 for the service. A week later I approached a known machanic .. and what u know matter solved in 100 bucks.... the problem with the electrical circuit was due to improper connection of the indicator wire... and the brake wires had to be changed.. but the handle still remains a issue... anyhow I have decided not to go back to the service center ..i can better rely upon the machanic guy..... :) the milage saw some fluctuation during this period.... there was a time I used to get a pucca average of 72km/ltr.... now it fluctuates a lot..the worst milage I got was when I had done some 22800 kms..the milage figure was 55 kmpl.... but now I get avg of 65- 70 kmpl....hope I get the same figures in the coming times...i am sick and tired of the back tire I hope to change it ASAP..
any how the bike still proves to be a good city bike....it still proves to be easy to handle machine...which helps me to slip through the dense traffic....and take nasty turns easily...
Regards,
Karthik

Hi all,
Am back with update on my bike after a really long time......
Its now 1 year 8 months since I bought my Platina... Since then it has covered 21, 200 kms......
Its giving a fuel efficiency figure of 70-72 km/ltr. Nowadays I give for service every 5000 km since my free service got over.
From past 2 months I have been facing a problem with false gears..Need to really give it a check with the bajaj service guys..also its long time since the brake shoes have been changed.. the service center people say it needs to be done every 7000 kms.
The bike still gives a pleasurable ride..only worried abt the gears....hope its not a major problem...
keep posting your comments..
Karthik :-)

Updates...
Am back with my update regarding my Bajaj Platina . The 4th free service is done and bike has covered almost 7600kms. Service provided by the bajaj service centre has been satisfactory....(hope they consider my advice and take care that the vehicle doesnt get sctrached up during the service.)
Its giving a fuel efficiency of 80 km/ltr. Recently, I had taken it out for a ride till Hognekal waterfalls and Im glad to say it was a nice vehicle to drive on the Highway. It was fun riding the bike on the smooth streches ....( there was also a stretch where there were too many pot holes...during the ride on that bad stretch I really wished if there were gas shocks attached to the bike so as to reduce the shakes).
So if u really want to go for a 100 cc bike and if u are gonna use it for city usage then count on the Platina as I will prove great value for money in sense of fuel economy and maintenance.

Hi, myself Karthik. This is my first review. The bike is one of the best in the 100cc segment. Maybe the pickup is dull, but in a dense traffic situation u can be sure that the bike wont give up and let u pierce thru the rush.
To start with.. its a overall package of power with good mileage. My bike currently delivers 70km/ltr on the busy roads of bangalore.
Surely, I do agree that its the same old CT100 in a new skin..but this one looks cool. Also, the plus feature is the silencer with has made the sound of the bike even much smoother. The handling of the bike is great..u never loose the control on road.
But, it has it own Cons. The fuel gauge readings are always wrong.Though the gears are smooth some times while pulling down to the lower gear some problem occurs..specially when u r getting back to the 1st gear.....a usual probem with bajaj bikes.
Till now I had a great time riding my bike. I like it the best when I see it overtaking the other bikes in its class like hero honda splendour, Star city, Crux..to name few..with utter ease.
Also. its one of the most easiest bikes to ride.(all gears down).
So, if u are a person who looking for looks, fuel economy surely this is a city bike u can opt for.
So get on the seat and take on the road on the Platina.
Some details abt the bike:
Engine 100cc (8.2bhp)
Max speed: 93 km/hr (as bajaj sales people claim. I have touched till 91km/hr)
Petrol tank capacity: 13 ltrs (2.5 ltrs reserve)
Kerb weight : 113 kgs
No. of Gears : 4 (all down)
