Im Swapnil Purchased Platina 100 cc on 8th Feb, 06. So its almost 2 yrs. that Im writing a review on my bike. As I thought earlier that it would be stupid act to write on a new bike at the time of purchase. A new bike always give a good performance & have a decent feedback from your friends & relatives
Im Thanekar (from thane) used to work in Powai. So I used this bike mostly for my day to day transport. As the bike claim it give more than 105 liter average I tried to check it on my own. You all might Surprise that when I used to travel on this bike with speed of 35 to 40 kmPH.
I used to get a average of 84 KMPM. thats too good. But u strictly need to drive in night or in early morning to avoid traffic & to get such a marvelous average. Now Even on double seat that on powai heavy traffice road I get 64 kmph average & thats also I used to keep my bike speed in between 35 to 70 kmph. I travelled on this bike to pune that is Prati Balaji temple on double seat with this bike. That time it gave me 69 kmph avg.
Thats also with so much load on bike & with heavy traffice on Lonavala vally (ghat). So on the average side its superb no issues at all so most suitable for saleman, lower income group people.Lets understand with some problems of the bike... which I think we should know before purchasing. The bike cant give a speed more than 75kmph.
Even if ur driving it with 65kmph & if the Bus or any heavy vehicle passed from near you the bike lose its control as the bike weight is very less & tyre so light. My bike used to get puncture on thane Powai road so often because of low weight tyre & the road terrible condition. So u must use this bike on clean-smooth road.
In order to give great mileage Bajaj compromised on its safety. The leg guard is so small so u need to take care of ur legs on ur own. Plus the metal used for leg guard is of light quality (remember 105kmph avg.) So once I banged on auto-ric with 25 kmph speed at that time even the leg guard twisted completely. Let me throw some more light on my few accidents on bike Once I was driving double seat with 20 kmph speed
I accidentally drove my bike in a uneven surface (khadda) that time my alloy wheel got damage. so u can imagine the quality of it. Even once I hit on divider with 30 kmph speed my bike tyre & shocks changed its shap completed almost curve of 45 degree.
So those who want to used if with slow speed with great average its best option for you but for speed lovers & Mud biker user strictly no. When I take a double seat it give me poor pickup. Even I cant over-take any girl with scooty. So its a big loss for you if U want to see any good looking girl face again. When we are going on a biking trip with two to three bike I used to come last. Friends need to slow down a bit for me. So take care this problems before going for this bike. But for average smooth engine its best.
