I purchased platina 125 byk in March 2009 ie, 6 months back. It has completed 4200kms so far and undergone two services. It is my first byk ever, prior I hvnt bought any and im a beginer by myslf, so I opted for some byk in the price range 45-50k and with better mileage (possibly 60-65) with light weight and easy handling. So far, platina 125 has met all my necessities.
The run is smooth and handling is easy. Pick up is ok. Mileage is btwn 65-70 Km/l.I drive the byk in heavy traffic areas in chennai. Maximum speed achievable is only 60 km/h. Above tht, byk vibrates and doesnt give a smooth run. Need to be careful regarding the road grip, as the tyres r very thin, chances of a skid is more likely.
So far, I hvnt met any skididng even at 60km/h. Bajaj dealers ( both service and sales) here in chennai r very co-operative and communicative. I am completely satisfied with their service.Initially I had a fear regarding the byk tht it may b uncomfortable for driving with heavy luggage and big bodies sititng at back. I lost this fear, aftr I drove the byk comfortable with 2 of my frnds at bak and even heavy luggage sumtyms. I have test drove so many byks from bajaj, HH and honda b4 purchasing this. But this byk felt mroe near to my hrt mainly coz of it’s price and the look which is quite good for tht price and ofocurse the features. But as everybody knws bajaj byks rn’t lyf worthy. May b they strt troubling aftr 2-3 yrs. May b tht’s true, hve 2 wait and see. Further, after the relase of discover 100 cc version, bajaj may shut this model possibly. But as of me im hppy with this and I wudnt mind recommending it to others.
