I used to own Pulsar 180from 1st Generation, bought it directly from Chakan factory in early days of Pulsar in Nov 2001. I drove my bike inside Bajaj Plant on their test track in those days and saw the entire plant. Pretty impressive experiments Bajaj is doing on bikes.
Coming back to the review.
What I like:
The front shock absorbers are now bigger in size this is going to make ride lot comfortable in bad roads. 1stgen Pulsar used to suffer a lot on bad roads.
New Gas suspension at back is also a good change.
Tubeless tyres
New thicker chassis
Fuel efficiency at such high power
Price! - For features its good bargain. well Pulsar was always a very good bargain for its prices.
What I did not like
1.Pick-up was terrible as compared to 1st Generation Pulsar. quite surprising. The technical spec shows that torque has been improved thats a good news and definitely needed for new broad tyres and new heavy chassis.
The sitting position is now sportier but that means one has to lean down and put all his weight on handle. Putting more strain on shoulders during long drives.
Auto turn indicator off is going to create problem in city driving. cause on bike to do turn your handle a lot even before taking actual turn
Kick is not available and I strongly need that. I have driven bike using kick almost for year when my starter stopped responding due to low battery but battery was enough powerful to supply horn and indicatior.
Well. as of now I have decided to wait for TVS Apache 180 launch. This will give me enough time and good choice to ride both the bikes and decided what suites me most.
